Coordination between our teams in Dnipro and Khmelnytskyi helped a large family from the Donetsk region find a safe haven.
A huge number of bags, seven children, no money, and fear – this is how the family evacuated from occupied Horlivka.

Сoordinator of the regional office in Dnipro
We met the family at the transit center. Our specialists received a request for assistance with further transportation. The family is large, including five minors. All preparations for the relocation were coordinated with our colleagues from the Khmelnytskyi region. In the end, everything succeeded.
The relocation took less than 24 hours. They traveled from the Dnipropetrovsk region to the Khmelnytskyi region by car and minibus.

Our team handed the family over to our colleagues from the Khmelnytskyi region in Uman – right at the midpoint of the route. Overall, only three days passed from receiving the request to providing the support and arriving at the destination. Social services of the Khmelnytskyi region also joined in and provided the evacuees with housing.
Project Manager Nestor Ternopilskyy explained that Rokada specialists operate in three transit centers across the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The Pluritons transit center in Dnipro informed us about this family’s situation. We developed an assistance plan, united two Rokada hubs, set a date, and provided social and transport support.
Newly evacuated individuals can stay at the transit center for a maximum of two weeks. Afterward, citizens with IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) status must find their own housing.

We had a similar case when the Rokada team in the Kharkiv region provided the exact same support for a family relocating to the Kyiv region. The fact that the families we help are now in safe conditions, have the necessary social package, and enjoy access to services within their communities is the best possible outcome.
Olena Nichta, a psychologist at the foundation’s regional office in Khmelnytskyi, noted that the seamless assistance provided to the large family demonstrates how Rokada operates as a single mechanism, regardless of geography and resources.

We were constantly in touch, and there was clear coordination.
Currently, the family lives in a house provided by the Teofipol community.

At the local level, the family receives help and is provided with the necessities to the best of their ability. We also remain close by and will continue to stay in touch with the mother and children.
Olha Mahazynova, 34, the mother of seven children whom Rokada helped relocate, said that life is never without hardships.

But the volunteer team worked like a Swiss watch. We are very grateful for everything to both the local authorities and Rokada. We are settling into the new place, and we like everything here. We were provided with a house. True, it is hard to say when we will fully arrange it.
She also noted that the children are adapting well and have already made their first friends among the locals.
