For the fourth time, a community in the Kharkiv region has invited the Rokada team to raise awareness about gender-based violence

The Vysochanska hromada invited a Rokada mobile team for the fourth time to inform residents about types of gender-based violence and provide practical recommendations on how to respond.

Around twenty participants joined the event.

“This time we worked in the village of Pokotylivka. A significant part of the audience consisted of internally displaced people. Therefore, we discussed the impact of war, forced displacement, and prolonged stress, which increase the risks of physical violence, as well as its characteristic signs, causes, and consequences. At the same time, we emphasized how to respond, where a person can turn to, and how the referral services system works,” says Svitlana Tkachenko, Gender-Based Violence Specialist.

Special emphasis was placed on preventing the silence around the problem, and participants learned to recognize any manifestations of violence in a timely manner.

The project is implemented by the Rokada Charitable Foundation with the support by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), in partnership with the Bukovinian Agency for Initiatives and Development (BAID) and Un Ponte Per ETS (UPP).
