In four educational institutions in Kharkiv region, Rokada is setting up modern shelters
About two thousand students from the Berestyn, Valky, and Lozova lyceums, and a general secondary school in Liubotyn, will be able to study in comfortable classrooms that the Rokada team is setting up in shelters. This is all so that children in front-line regions can study offline, interact with one another, and so that education losses caused by the war are minimized.
Renovation works began recently and are set to finish in September.
Creating safe spaces is one of the areas of a project Rokada is implementing with support by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), in partnership with the Bukovinian Agency for Initiatives and Development (BAID) and Un Ponte Per ETS (UPP).

Our team continues implementing the project for the safety of children in front-line regions. In total, we are setting up shelters in eight educational institutions. Besides Kharkiv region, work is also underway in Sumy region. The project covers schools and lyceums where the need for protection is most acute. We are renovating classrooms and zoning spaces, modernizing lighting, repairing restrooms, and furnishing the safe spaces
The project provides for the renovation of ten classrooms in shelters, their furnishing, restroom upgrades, installation of doors, and additional lighting.
