In Kharkiv region, women are learning art therapy as a tool for overcoming the consequences of gender-based violence

Rokada psychologist Inna Kisil brought together women from the village of Pokotylivka in Kharkiv region for a creative workshop. She used mandala therapy as a method of self-support and emotional recovery.

“Mandala therapy works with what a person cannot always recognise or put into words. The choice of colours and lines, filling the space inside the circle – all of this reflects one’s inner state and helps bring it into order. For those who have experienced gender-based violence, it is a gentle and safe way of supporting themselves and recovering,” says the Foundation’s psychologist Inna Kisil.

The project is implemented by the Rokada Charitable Foundation with the support of Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo (AICS) in partnership with the Bukovinian Agency for Initiatives and Development (BAID) and Un Ponte Per ETS (UPP).
