In Sheptytskyi, Lviv region, a Resilience Centre renovated by Rokada has started its operations
Three dozen Resilience Centres are currently operating in the Lviv region, including a recently renovated one in Sheptytskyi. This space for comprehensive psychosocial support is managed by the non-governmental organisation Foundation for Development and Strategic Change. The renovation was made possible thanks to financial support from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Ukraine, alongside cooperation from the local community and the Rokada Charitable Foundation.
“This event holds a special significance for us. As a non-governmental organisation, we are convinced that a strong community begins with people who are ready to take action, unite their efforts, and assume responsibility for our shared future. That is precisely why we develop social services, support families, work with young people, assist individuals finding themselves in difficult life circumstances, and create conditions where everyone can receive the help they need.”

The Resilience Centre first opened its doors back in August 2024. It began as a pilot project implemented under the How Are You? All-Ukrainian Mental Health Programme. Since then, its specialists have provided support to more than 10,000 local residents.
Today, at the Centre, residents of the community can receive comprehensive assistance free of charge. This includes social and psychosocial support, individual, family, and group consultations, work with families with children, support for internally displaced persons, veterans, and other people who need additional attention. At the same time, the team is working on the development of social services in the community.
“No quality renovations or modern equipment can replace the people who work selflessly every day for the sake of others and do good deeds. An exceptionally strong, dedicated, and motivated team has gathered here. I know how hard these people have been working since the first days of the full-scale war. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the implementation of this important project.”

As part of the renovation works, Rokada, among other things, completely renewed window and door structures, flooring, electricity and heating systems, engineering communications, and also carried out the interior decoration of all premises.
Separately, the foundation’s team focused on ensuring the accessibility of the Centre for people with reduced mobility and people with disabilities: they installed ramps, widened doorways, and removed thresholds. At the same time, they equipped an inclusive restroom.

“Behind this renovation stands the joint work of many people. First and foremost, our partners from the UNHCR, who supported the idea and helped bring it to life. This is the community team that was there at any time of the day or night. This is our Rokada team, which transformed the space into a modern barrier-free centre. And also, the Centre’s team, which has grown and strengthened and will be able to further scale its work, helping people.”
The Resilience Centre is open to the residents of the Sheptytskyi community. You can receive free social and psychosocial support at the address: 3 Ivasiuka Street, Sheptytskyi.
The project is implemented with the financial support of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Ukraine.
