In Sumy region, Rokada continues to bring older women together for creative meetings
Rokada psychologist Tetiana Matviienko continues to bring older women together for the creative meetings “The Book of Life”. At the Resilience Centre of Khmelivka community in Sumy region, participants used drawing to tell about their experiences and the people and events that gave them support. They also talked about the right to a life free from violence.
“At such meetings, women often talk about themselves for the first time in a long while – not about their children, grandchildren or household. They recall what they have been through and suddenly see how much they have managed to endure. Older people often lack exactly this kind of communication. And when a person feels supported, it is easier for them to talk about what worries them and to ask for help,” says Tetiana Matviienko.
If you or your loved ones are experiencing violence, contact the police at 102, the National Hotline for the Prevention of Violence at 116 123, or Rokada specialists in Sumy region: +380673098937.
The project is implemented by the Rokada Charitable Foundation with the support of Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo (AICS) in partnership with Bukovinian Agency for Initiatives and Development (BAID) and Un Ponte Per ETS (UPP).
