In Sumy, residents with hearing impairments received comprehensive humanitarian support
Cooperation continues between the Rokada team, which supports people who have experienced gender-based violence, and the Foundation of Friends of Ukraine charity, which cares for Sumy residents with hearing impairments.
Thanks to this partnership, residents received humanitarian kits.
“This help became significant support for families at this difficult time. Our cooperation began with joint events for people with hearing impairments, which sign language interpreter Nina Ostrovska helped to run. As a result, each participant had the opportunity to receive the necessary information on gender-based violence and psychological support, and to be heard,” says Rokada psychologist Tetiana Matviienko, adding that together with partners they managed to create a barrier-free space where every person, regardless of their communication needs, received equal access to humanitarian services.
The project is implemented by the Rokada Charitable Foundation with the support of Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo (AICS) in partnership with the Bukovinian Agency for Initiatives and Development (BAID) and Un Ponte Per ETS (UPP).
