In Vilna Spaces, women and girls regularly receive motivational trinkets
In each of the seven Vilna spaces managed by Rokada specialists, women and girls receive not only psychological support, consultations, learning opportunities, and a community of like-minded people, but also useful monthly gifts. These can include power banks, portable flashlights, or other items that are practical for everyday life.
Vilna is a women- and girl-friendly space where anyone can receive comprehensive psychosocial support free of charge. Together with female specialists, women restore their inner resources, find new development opportunities, and regain a sense of stability. Supported by Rokada, these spaces operate in Kyiv, Irpin, Kharkiv, Shostka, Chernihiv, and Sumy.
During the three months of summer, almost 600 women and girls found the support they needed.
“Such needs often go unnoticed when the visitors of our spaces speak about assistance. However, practical incentives make their daily lives a bit more comfortable and safer—especially now, when everyday hardships have become a reality for many,” says Nataliia Serdiuk, coordinator of Vilna spaces in Kharkiv and Shostka. “For the Vilna spaces team, it is important to both respond to the requests that women and girls bring to us and understand the needs that make everyone feel genuinely cared for.”
The Vilna women- and girl-friendly space is implemented by UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine, with financial support provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), the International Development Programme of the Government of Ireland, the Government of Sweden, and the Government of Denmark, in cooperation with the Rokada Charity Foundation.
