The Rokada team has become part of the second wave of a programme that helps Ukrainian civil society organisations build a systematic approach to fundraising and strengthen their institutional resilience.
The Fundraising NGO Growth Lab intensive by Razom for Ukraine lasted four days. Participants worked on strategic fundraising, donor segments, annual planning, partnerships and building long-term financial sustainability, and deepened their knowledge of modern tools, including artificial intelligence applications.
Rokada’s Programme Director Oleksandr Maliukhov and the Foundation’s Partnerships and Fundraising Coordinator Iryna Zhuravkevych say that taking part in the project gave them the opportunity to work with leading fundraising experts who have experience of multi-million international campaigns.
Oleksandr Maliukhov:
For me, this training was an opportunity to look at fundraising much more broadly – not only as attracting resources but as part of the organisation’s systemic development. Strategy, partnerships, programmes and management decisions should work together and reinforce each other. We received practical tools that help build a more sustainable financial model and better integrate fundraising into the organisation’s overall development and the scaling of its impact.
Iryna Zhuravkevych:
The programme gave a clear understanding of how to build the logic of working with different types of donors and how to better articulate the organisation’s value. Annual planning and strategy analysis may seem like basic things, but the practical tools for them were the most useful for me.
Razom for Ukraine is a non-profit organisation headquartered in New York that has supported Ukrainian civil society since 2014. The community also has offices in Washington, Kyiv and Lviv. The organisation combines local knowledge with global experience to respond quickly to challenges and implement long-term solutions.
