Residents of the Vysokyi community in Kharkiv region learned to recognise cyberbullying
Residents of the Vysokyi community in Kharkiv region learned to recognise digital violence. Gender-based violence specialist Svitlana Tkachenko brought participants together at the Hi Hub.
“We are used to thinking that violence is something physical. However, the psychological harm caused by digital harassment can be just as devastating. Insults in comments, unwanted messages, hacking of personal pages and sharing of personal data are often seen as something that ‘just happens’. But our task is to teach people to recognise it, to be aware of it, to counter it and to seek help if necessary,” explains Svitlana Tkachenko.
The specialist also reminded participants of the rules of safe online behaviour, ways to protect personal information and what to do when faced with digital violence.
The project is implemented by the Rokada Charitable Foundation with the support of Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo (AICS) in partnership with the Bukovinian Agency for Initiatives and Development (BAID) and Un Ponte Per ETS (UPP).
