Rokada and the cyber police trained educators in online safety

Rokada psychologist Tetiana Matviienko and cyber police officer Denys Kuts spoke to the staff of a preschool in Sumy about gender-based violence and cybersecurity.

The specialists combined psychological and security approaches. They discussed personal data protection, safe online behaviour and what to do in case of a threat or cyber violence.

“Today, when both children and adults spend more and more time online, it is important to help people not only understand the threats in practical terms but also know how to respond to them. These include stalking, bullying, grooming and many other forms of cyber violence. From a psychological point of view, the most dangerous thing is that the person experiencing it is often ashamed to talk about it and is left alone with the problem. That is why everyone should know: the perpetrator is to blame for cyber violence, not the person who experienced it, and seeking help is not a weakness but a way to protect your rights,” notes Tetiana Matviienko.

The project is implemented by the Rokada Charitable Foundation with the support of Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo (AICS) in partnership with the Bukovinian Agency for Initiatives and Development (BAID) and Un Ponte Per ETS (UPP).
