Rokada brings together Synivka community geriatric pension staff for physical violence prevention training

Olena Tykhonova, a gender-based violence specialist from Rokada, met with staff at the Synivka care home in the Sumy region to discuss the primary indicators of physical violence and factors that can increase the vulnerability of the elderly.

“We focused specifically on the staff’s responsibility for the timely identification of signs of violence and the appropriate response to such incidents. At the same time, we provided information on survivors’ rights, how to seek help, and available support services,” Olena Tykhonova adds.

The Rokada specialist notes that the practical session held during the training helped participants identify safe ways to respond to potential incidents of violence and enhanced their understanding of elder protection.

The project is implemented by the Rokada Charitable Foundation with the support of Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo (AICS), in partnership with the Bukovinian Agency for Initiatives and Development (BAID) and Un Ponte Per ETS (UPP).
