Rokada brought together civil society in Dnipropetrovsk region for a round table to improve social service delivery
A round table held in Dnipro within the “Strength through Unity” project brought together representatives of civil society organisations in the region to look for tools to improve social service delivery.
The event was organised by the Rokada team with the support of the German Government and the EU.
More than twenty participants focused on real cases, challenges and solutions that deliver results.

In particular, they discussed communities’ practical experience in solving social issues, quick mechanisms for responding to the needs of vulnerable groups, the effective use of available resources without duplicating functions, and building horizontal links between institutions and organisations.

“Today it is important not only to talk about cooperation but also to show concrete results. Communities already have effective solutions – our task is to see, support and spread them. It is the exchange of practical experience that gives a faster effect than lengthy discussions,” said Vitalii Melnyk, Project Manager.
Among the participants was Svitlana Lukianchenko, Strategic Development Director of the NGO “Power of the Future”. She stresses that local initiatives are often the most effective in solving social issues.
“For us as a civil society organisation, it is important to be in dialogue with different stakeholders and understand the regional context and the processes that affect it. Such meetings help us stay involved in shared change and better coordinate our activities,” she notes.

The event took place within the project “Empowering War-Affected Communities in Ukraine through Local Initiatives (EMPOWER)”, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) together with the European Union and implemented by GIZ Ukraine.
