Rokada continues to help residents of regions suffering from Russian attacks

Air attacks on Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Chernihiv, and other Ukrainian regions show no signs of abating. Every single day, cities and villages are shaken by explosions. People are losing what matters most – their family and loved ones. No words can heal such pain. Yet, we remain by their side to listen, support, and help.

The Rokada teams continue to provide an emergency response to the consequences of the shelling. We remain committed to supplying people whose homes have been damaged with all the necessary materials.

Nearly two hundred shattered windows and doors in two high-rise buildings, several burnt-out cars, and a destroyed power substation – this is the aftermath of yet another strike on the capital. The emergency response team rushed to the location to help Kyiv residents repair their damaged homes.

“In total, we deliver OSB boards, plastic sheeting, expanding foam, and self-tapping screws to the locations so that damaged windows and doors can be sealed quickly,” says Valentyn Vokhmyanin, an emergency response construction kits logistics specialist in Kyiv. He adds that Rokada’s psychologists and social workers provide continuous counseling and support to everyone who reaches out. “People simply come up to us to talk, to share their problems, and to feel that they are not left alone with their tragedy.”

Danylo Rozhok sits quietly on a bench near a completely burnt-out car. He says it saved his life.

“Look, the entire passenger side is smashed to pieces. The car took the full force of the impact when the drone crashed. I was right next to it at that moment,” the man says, visibly shaken.

Although the windows in Danylo’s apartment remained intact, he went out into the yard to help his neighbors.

The project is implemented with the support of UNHCR Ukraine – the UN Refugee Agency.
