Rokada has set up another shelter for internally displaced Ukrainians in the Zhytomyr region
Rokada teams in the regions continue to create new places of temporary residence for people who have lost their own homes. In the Zhytomyr region, the foundation has set up two shelters so far. The new one in the settlement of Holovyne is already prepared to receive residents. In total, it is designed for 120 people.
“It is important that the Zhytomyr community is actively involved in supporting people who have relocated to the region. In cooperation, we managed to create comfortable conditions. On the first and second floors, the premises were redesigned, new partitions were built, and electrical networks were completely replaced, bathrooms were renovated, and kitchens were equipped with furniture and household appliances. The shelter is also inclusive. We have completely adapted the space to the needs of people with limited mobility. Additionally, the entrance was equipped with a special lift.”

Generally, the rooms and common spaces were renovated, the heating system was replaced, a solid fuel boiler was installed, and they were also furnished and equipped with appliances.
The creation of temporary accommodation centers in the Zhytomyr region became possible with the support of the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund.
