Rokada’s regional team in Kirovohrad region helped the Ketrysanivka community renovate rooms in a shelter. Twenty internally displaced Ukrainians currently live there. They settled there at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

“We provided the materials needed for the repairs, and the community itself carried out the work. As a result, four rooms were renovated. Each was also furnished and provided with bed linen,” says Nataliia Saprykina, engineer at the regional office.
Earlier, the team refurbished the bathrooms, replaced doors and equipped the shelter with household appliances.
“Our team continues to look after the temporary accommodation in Ketrysanivka. We provide social, psychological and legal support. In the near future, we will also continue the improvements: we plan to install a mechanical lift and renovate the entrance area,” adds Mariia Shelest, coordinator of the regional office.
Oleksii Kurdecha is currently the only one living in a renovated room. He settled in the shelter in 2022. He is from Kostiantynivka.

He says that although he is used to different living conditions, he is pleased with the renovated room.
“I was given a freshly renovated room. It’s comfortable, everything is new, nice furniture, clean,” he says.
Regional office coordinator Mariia Shelest explains that the remaining rooms are waiting for newcomers to the community. Each is designed for two or three people.
