Rokada helps veteran support specialists better understand procedures for responding to gender-based violence

Rokada’s regional team in Sumy region – psychologist Tetiana Matviienko and lawyer Olha Drozdenko – is helping veteran support specialists in Konotop better understand procedures for responding to cases of gender-based violence.

“The topic of gender-based violence is relevant in times of crisis, especially in work with veterans and their families. So we talked with colleagues about the forms and manifestations of domestic and sexual violence and helped them build practical skills for timely identification. At the same time, we focused on the legal aspects of protecting people who have experienced gender-based violence,” explains Tetiana Matviienko, adding that they also emphasised the principles of confidentiality and non-discrimination.

The project is implemented by the Rokada Charitable Foundation with the support of Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo (AICS) in partnership with the Bukovinian Agency for Initiatives and Development (BAID) and Un Ponte Per ETS (UPP).
