“The Book of Life”: women aged 60+ in Sumy region reflected on their life journey through art
Women aged 60+ gathered for a creative meeting at the Resilience Centre in the village of Hudymy. They reflected on their own “book of life” – important events, the passage of time and the people who give them support. They also talked separately about gender-based and domestic violence and the possibility of seeking help. On wooden boards, they painted their dreams, their sources of strength and words that remind them of what matters.
“Age, life circumstances or family relationships can never justify violence. Every person has the right to dignity, safety and support. Creativity helps women focus on their own feelings, see how much strength their experience holds, and find the support they can lean on,” says Rokada psychologist Tetiana Matviienko.
The project is implemented by the Rokada Charitable Foundation with the support of Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo (AICS) in partnership with the Bukovinian Agency for Initiatives and Development (BAID) and Un Ponte Per ETS (UPP).
