Workplace mobbing: visitors to the VILNA space learned how to protect their rights

Rokada psychologist Tetiana Matviienko helped women understand the forms and manifestations of gender-based violence at work. The topic of mobbing brought together visitors to the VILNA space in Sumy.

They also discussed signs of discrimination, harassment and psychological pressure in the workplace.

“Gender-based violence in the workplace is not limited to harassment, as one might imagine. In fact, it also includes isolation, devaluation of professional achievements and psychological pressure disguised as criticism. Unlike a one-off conflict, mobbing is systematic, and that is exactly what is hardest to recognise from inside the situation. A person blames their own vulnerability for what is actually targeted pressure,” explains Tetiana Matviienko.

The Foundation’s psychologist notes that the specialists’ task is to provide clear criteria by which such violence can be identified, and to explain where to turn to protect one’s rights as an employee.

“If you, your acquaintances or colleagues have experienced pressure or violations of labour rights, you should first contact the State Labour Service. Qualified legal and psychological assistance provided by the Rokada team can also help in such cases,” Tetiana Matviienko points out.

The project is implemented by the Rokada Charitable Foundation with the support of Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo (AICS) in partnership with the Bukovinian Agency for Initiatives and Development (BAID) and Un Ponte Per ETS (UPP).
